INTERNSHIP & EMPLOYMENT

Internship:

Hartman Mental Health Counseling (HMHC) takes pride in offering professional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) protocol and treatment as well as second year Mental Health Counseling (MHC) students internship opportunities.

Our internship gives students a chance to put what they’ve learned in class into practice and offers hands on experience in DBT and Cognitive Behavioral Modalities. Your hours will be tooled to the requirement of your program. Most Interns carry a caseload of 4-8 clients with weekly appointments. Interns will also be responsible for co-facilitating DBT Skills Group after required training is completed.

Interns are not responsible for phone coaching. Interns will receive weekly one-on-one supervision with their direct supervisor and participate in DBT consultation (supervision) group twice a month.

If you are interested in an Internship at HMHC and are a 2nd year mental health counseling student please email your CV to Michael@HartmanMHC.com. Introductory/Cover Letters are encouraged to be sent as well.

Employment:

Are you a DBT practitioner looking to join a DBT private practice? If so, you are welcome to apply to HMHC for a therapist position. Therapists at HMHC are responsible for taking individual sessions, facilitating skills group, and engaging in weekly consultation with the clinical team.

tHMHC is currently looking for therapists who have been trained in DBT through a reputable source (PESI: Dr. Lane Pederson, Behavior Tech, Dr. Charlie Swenson, or other reputable DBT training centers). Proof of training and competency will be requested/assessed during the interview process.

Those who are experienced CBT oriented practitioners who are willing to train in DBT will be considered as well though their employment will not start until the finalization of their training.

Currently HMHC will only be offering par-diem positions with competitive rates that compensates for individual therapy sessions, skills group facilitation, as well as a flat rate for availability for phone coaching. Pay will be negotiated during the end of the interview process if you are chosen for hire. Full-time positions, benefits, and investment packages are being considered and will be implemented when the business grows to the appropriate size for such opportunities.
